The NEPRA Authority

The NEPRA Authority, while completing the hearing on the request in the name of FCA, gave preliminary approval to increase the cost of electricity by Rs. 5 per unit for one month.

NEPRA will issue a final decision on the price hike later, according to CPPA officials, the cost has come as per the reference set by NEPRA. 40 billion will be an additional burden on consumers.

This increase was made in the context of fuel adjustment for February, the CPPA application said that 6 billion 876 million units of electricity were sold in February.

The application stated that domestic gas produced 11.04 percent, imported LNG produced 20.33 percent, and nuclear fuel produced 23.29 percent in February.
