A land of happy people
Denmark
18th part
The magic of Danish architecture
and the charming beauty
Tariq Mirza, Sydney
When I opened my eyes at nine o’clock in the morning, my body was full of fatigue, but I was not in the mood to hear his sighs and groans like the cruel lover. The semi-warm water shower was a great relief. However, the breakfast and delicious coffee at Cafe Expresso made up for the shortfall.
The weather was fine today, but in the last two days the effects of Australia’s summer have faded and the cold snap of Scandinavia is beginning to take its toll. So today, on the third day, like everyone else, I was dressed in a warm jacket.
After breakfast I returned to the hotel because one of my grays (locals) was coming to see me today.
At eleven o’clock my cell phone rang and I came downstairs. Raja Ghafoor Afzal was present below. Raja Sahib also belongs to Gujar Khan Tehsil of Mardam Khaz and Shaheed.
He has lived in Denmark for the last 47 years. Are journalists and broadcasters. For twenty-five years my f. M radio programs. His radio channel broadcasts are very popular in the Pakistani community in Denmark. Raja Sahib is increasingly involved in the welfare work of the community.
We first went with them to Copenhagen’s oldest and most historic Central Railway Station, a few minutes’ walk from my hotel. Trains run from this station not only to local but also to other cities, towns, airports and Sweden, Norway.
The new Metro also departs from here, stopping at 17 stations inside Copenhagen. So this is a very busy station.

When we entered the main hall of this building, I was amazed to see the height of its roof. This hall is located under the big dome. The roof is so high that you have to move your head 90 degrees to see it. There were not only passengers in the hall but there is a very busy bazaar. There are cafes, shops, restaurants, fruit and flower shops, travel offices, post offices, banks, pubs, branches of mobile phone companies and other necessities. There is also a hotel on the second floor.
Jim Ghafir was in the hall at the time. There were tourists of all colors and races from all over the world. Some were sitting on chairs. Many were busy shopping. Some were buying tickets etc. Many were sitting in front of computers in an internet cafe in a corner, as if there was an international gathering around us. Raja Ghafoor Sahib spoke
There is such a rush here all the time
I said that even if this rush increases ten times, it cannot be equal to the markets of Gujar Khan
Oh yes Mirza Sahib! What did you remember Where is the prosperity like Gujar Khan? Remind them of fresh sweets and hot jellies
I didn’t remember Haqqa, tobacco and snuff. It also has a full market.
Raja Sahib started laughing. Don’t worry- it is also available in Denmark.
I said, everything can be found here but the interesting voices of the peddlers will not be here to attract the customers.
Raja Sahib laughed, so the colors of Pakistan are missing here. Those fair stalls, those kabaddi competitions, bull races, tea houses, thade parties, pothohari baiting, dramas and friends parties, all come to mind.
I said, at the same time, the region remembers the fragrance and coolness of Pothohar’s pahlahis, tahlis, mulberries and drakes. Fields of mustard yellow flowers revolve around the eyes. The gold of the golden ears of wheat stirred the heart. Noisy rivers and streams glow in memories. The fragrance that rises from the ground with the first drop of rain still fascinates the heart and mind.
When they return home in the evening, in the sound of herds of cattle, passing by in front of the setting sun, these voices linger in their ears for a long time. The sweet words of the dove in the morning, the chirping of the birds and the chirping of the children going to school are also part of these beautiful memories.
Raja Afzal smiled, I forgot to be with a novelist. By the way, after listening to your words, I became a part of this environment for a few moments
I have never been out of this environment. They live in me forever.
Using Raja Afzal’s ticket, we came down to the platform. To my right and left were several platforms and railroad tracks. There are several entrances to this station. We entered from the front, while there are also entrances to the opposite direction and to the east towards the Tree Valley Garden.
There is a railway network in Denmark. Along with the railways, there are also metro and express trains۔ The chain has spread from Denmark to Scandinavia and other European countries. I think a measure of a country’s development is its means of transportation.
Where the means of transportation are common and light, the country is developed and its people are prosperous. The vehicle of industrial and economic development cannot run without the fastest wheels of transportation. The common denominator between all the developed countries is that they have access to modern, reliable and accessible means of communication and transportation.
An example of this is the sudden departure of Tahir Adeel to Germany. Despite being an ordinary citizen, he reached another country so easily and returned the next day. In these countries, an ordinary and hardworking professional can afford to buy this ticket from his one day’s earnings. There are so many ways to travel, including train, bus, plane, ship, car that it is difficult to choose. In this competitive environment, tickets are cheap and always available, which can be of great benefit to everyone. This is how the wheel of development continues to move.
We were now standing in front of Copenhagen City Hall. City Hall is a tourist attraction due to its unique and magnificent building, towering clock tower and historical significance. Not far from Central Station.
In fact, the part of the city where I lived was the center of ancient, historical, and sightseeing. In addition to the central station, the famous street adjacent to it, full of historical and tourist attractions, the Royal Palace of Denmark, the royal church, numerous museums, art galleries are located in this area. Thus, this area is considered as a tourist paradise.
Hundreds of tourists were undoubtedly present in the spacious courtyard in front of the magnificent City Hall building. They were seen sitting in groups and walking around in the bright sun. Large pots full of colorful flowers were placed here and there on the clean brick floor.
In the center, like a pearl-splashing water fountain, dozens of ornate sculptural sculptures, guitar and other musical instruments, musicians scattering melodies, charming bodies throbbing to these melodies, tourists with bright faces and a flock of pigeons, this place looked like heaven and earth. ۔
Raja Afzal was taking pictures of me against the backdrop of a building with red brick, arched doors and walls. I wanted them to appear in these pictures too, so I asked a playful Hasina passing by, can you take a photo of us?
Flexible like a delicate twig and fragrant like a ball flower, this young lady stopped. Pearls of smile adorned her red ruby lips. He took the camera and spoke with repentance, of course! Stand here, get close, put a smile on your face, look into my eyes, then smile.
We were following the instructions of this infidel, but she was not satisfied. She came to me and said with a sigh, very deeply, let me stand like this. Distances are not good.
Raja Ghafoor said, Bibi we are both men and friends and how close they want to be.
This is what I am saying, don’t think that both are men, but think that they are standing with their girlfriends. Bring the same feelings in the heart. Gentleness and love will spread on the face.
Raja Sahib said, having lived with a wife for thirty years, the feeling that comes at your age cannot come.
What happened, Hasina’s playful argument was going on
The longer you stay together, the more love there should be. In thirty years all distances should be bridged.
Raja Sahib said jokingly, Bibi, instead of making our picture, come and stand with us. Someone else will take the picture. That way we can understand you.
That beauty was also Danish who is a happy nation in all circumstances. Ready immediately.
it’s fine. I call my friend. She will make a picture. I am standing between you two. See what the picture will look like.
Dressed in blue jeans, a black jacket and a red hat, the toy stood between us and his friend picked up the camera.
He put his hand on our back and brought it so close that the difference between mind and you disappeared. Raja Sahib’s joke was embraced by us. We were staring at each other. What made it even more annoying was that the red mark on our cheeks according to the European style of departure. I told Raja Afzal
Shut up! Now who will show this picture?
Raja Sahib said while erasing Jhenp, you are a tourist, keep it, you will show your friends that this is how you are welcomed in Denmark.
I said, I am deleting it, otherwise the reverse may happen.
We both walked into City Hall laughing. There is a big hall here called City Hall. There are also several smaller halls. One of the halls had an exhibition of the oldest clocks and clocks. It contained strange clocks of ancient times.
Upon arriving at the main hall, the central station has a very high ceiling, ornate chandeliers, long pipe-connected fans, beautifully carved walls, historical paintings, large stained glass windows, wide wooden stairs, magnificent stage and The wooden chairs and tables were a reminder of the greatness of this nation. The floor is decorated with white and black tiles.
The staircase and balconies, pillars, arches and ornate carvings of this three storied building were very beautiful. The main entrance to the city hall is huge and majestic. The arched windows are also a beautiful example of architecture. As a whole, this building is a striking example of simplicity, elegance, texture and decoration, durability and sophistication of art and craftsmanship that is remarkable and visible.
The city hall, built between 6 and 7, is the brainchild of the famous Danish architect Martin. It is a manifestation of the national romantic style of architecture that was common in Scandinavia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Its clock tower is 5 meters high which is one of the tallest buildings in Copenhagen as there are not many tall buildings in Copenhagen.
