شیر آئے تو
مینارِ پاکستان کے موجودہ مقام پر 1940 میں قائداعظمؒ  قوم سے خطاب فرما رہے تھے کہ اچانک پنڈال میں ہلچل محسوس ہوئی۔ قائداعظمؒ نے اس بابت دریافت کیا تو انھیں بتایا گیا کہ شیرِ بنگال تشریف لائے ہیں۔
قائداعظمؒ  نے فرمایا
’’جب شیر آئے تو میمنے کو چُپ ہو جانا چاہیے۔‘‘ یہ کہہ کر کچھ لمحوں کے لیے تقریر میں وقفہ دیا اور کرسی پر بیٹھ گئے۔
جب شیرِ بنگال مولوی فضل الحق کو کرسی پر بٹھا دیا گیا تو قائداعظمؒ پھر سے کرسی سےا ُٹھ کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا:
’’اب شیر کو زنجیروں میں جکڑ دیا گیا ہے۔ اس لیے میمنا بول سکتا ہے۔‘‘
اس کے بعد دوبارہ اپنی تقریر شروع کر دی۔ قائداعظم کے اس انداز سے لوگ بے حد محظوظ ہوئے۔

At the present location of Minar-e-Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam was addressing the nation in 1940 when suddenly there was a commotion in the venue. When Quaid-e-Azam inquired about this, he was told that the Lions of Bengal had come.
The Quaid-e-Azam said:
“When the lion comes, the lamb should be quiet.” Saying this, he paused for a few moments and sat down on the chair.
When Maulvi Fazlullah, the Lion of Bengal, was seated on a chair, Quaid-e-Azam again got up from his chair and said:
“Now the lion has been chained. That is why the lamb can speak. “Then he started his speech again. People were very happy with this style of Quaid-e-Azam.
